Why Sometimes I “Forget” My Wallet
I am like you, I am saving to travel the world (again). To do this I need to find ways to try and save as much money as possible on my daily outage.
One of the first tricks of the mind I try to follow more often than not is to “forget” my wallet when I go out. I do not mean forget it so that others have to pay for you! That is crazy, and mean, your friends are lovely people so do not do that! However, if you are going to work five days a week its tempting to buy that coffee, to buy that bacon sarnie, you know where I am going with this…
So, sometimes, just give it a try “forget” your wallet on your next business day to the office. Because you do not have access to money you can not get that thing. Also, this helps to eat healthier too as no more buying that chocolate bar because you are “tired” or need some “energy”!
This has an extra benefit long term as you realise that those things every day you were buying due to a whole number of reasons lead to only spending a pound here or there, however over the course of a week or even a month you will be surprised how much all these coffee’s cost.
This is a everyday life hack. This will provide you with additional savings for your travels around the world.
I found the idea to test like this from Tim Ferris. He is all about lifestyle design and creating the life you want. I think this relates to what he does. Have a go, see if it saves you from buying that coffee every day, just imagine £2.00 coffee a day is £10.00 per week and a whopping £40.00 a month!
I bet you can think of better uses of that £40.00 when you are traveling the world!
