Australia may not be the first place that wine-lovers think of when they consider a destination to celebrate their favorite drink, but the country’s center of culture is actually home to one of the world’s best wine shows, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

Organized by Food and Wine Victoria Ltd., this event has been held every March since 1993 to bolster the reputation of the wine scene in the city of Melbourne and the Victoria area.

With previous visits by famous chefs like Nigella Lawson and Thomas Keller, and banquet-style lunches held alongside cooking classes, this is a must-not-miss for those who love their grapes.

Food & Wine Classic

The city of Aspen, Colorado may be famous for its snow-covered slopes and cold weather, but it also happens to be the location for one of the most revered food and wine events in all of North America.

With more than 300 wines available for trying out in the Grand Tasting Pavilion, from champagne to red, there are plenty of options for every Wine lover at this Food & Wine magazine event.

If that isn’t enough reason to head for the hills of Aspen, this popular tradition also features some of the best chefs in the nation cooking up their favorite dishes.

Haro Wine Festival

A wine festival full of fabulous food and a multitude of tastings may be alluring enough on its own, but the Haro Wine Festival in Spain’s Rioja region goes full tilt when it comes to having fun with the popular drink.

While the festival has been held for more than 300 years and starts with festival goers carrying their drinking jugs through town, its main event is the ‘La Batalla del Vino’, or ‘Battle of Wine’, where visitors douse each other in the much-loved liquid.

Fortunately, for this event inspired by the patron San Pedro, trucks patrol the streets to ensure no one runs out of their favorite beverage.

The Bordeaux Wine Festival

The area of Bordeaux may be familiar for the eponymous wines that are produced in the region.

Fortunately though, for wine lovers, the city is also home to the Bordeaux Wine Festival, which is held along the Garonne River and features a variety of wines from the area including those of Bordeaux and Aquitaine.

If you’re thinking of planning a trip to this prime spot for wine, you may want to make a date for 2018 when the Tall Ships Regatta will sail through the city’s center with thirty of the most beautiful boats in the world.

Whether you love wine for the surprising health benefits it offers or are in it for a glimpse of the ships, there’s more than one reason to head to Bordeaux in the coming year.

San Francisco

It makes sense that one of the most enviable wine festivals in the world should take place just outside of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, where popular wineries like Domaine Chandon and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars exist.

But, for the true wine lover, this party in San Francisco is not to be missed! The one night event features only the very best wines from more than 15,000 bottles as chosen by Wine & Spirits magazine.

With some of the best bottles in the world featured and a variety of local chefs gracing the event with their food, this will be a night to remember for any wine and food connoisseur.

The Grape Festival of Impruneta

Tuscany is one of the most beloved and renowned places in the world when it comes to the production of wine, and where better to enjoy a historic festival than the lush, sprawling hills of the famed region?

Since 1926, The Grape Festival has been held in Impruneta and has become one of the most popular events in the center for locals and tourists alike.

While many fabulous carts can be seen during the festival carrying the wares of their respective farms, this popular festival also features a parade, dancing, performances and hand-made products, all in the celebration of the grape.

Did we just plan your Wine Vacation for 2018?
